Hi all,
I was hoping to get some additional info regarding a couple GaN FETs offered by Navitas Semiconductor. Specifically regarding part numbers NV6012C-RA and NV6014-RA, I need additional specifications on gate leakage current (maximum, not just typical). I had sent an inquiry to Navitas via their website, but have not received even a confirmation. Was wondering if Digikey could ask on my behalf, or put me in contact with a Navitas FAE.
Regards,
Mike
Greetings,
One does well to understand that the tabular max/min figures in the datasheet are the part understood to constitute a product specification against which conformity is judged, while “typical” values are simply reference information that is not guaranteed.
Asking for limiting values when the datasheet offers none is thus tantamount to requesting a custom product variant subject to different testing and production controls than the standard product, which will be neither cheap nor readily available. Doubly so if one wants those limits to apply over temperature, rather than just at 25°C.
Hi Rick,
Sometimes it is as you say, what you see is what you get, end of story. But in the past I have made similar inquiries to other vendors who did provide supplementary info, sometimes under NDA. In one case I made the exact same inquiry regarding gate leakage current, and was given histograms of factory test data, which was sufficient for my purpose of estimating yield (unfortunately that vendor was later acquired and their product lines discontinued). I’ve never expected any vendor to create a new product specification or do additional unit testing for my sake.
Regards,
Mike
The possibilities do improve somewhat if one’s OK with informal guidance rather than a “specification” per-se. If you’d care to send a private message (click user icon, then “Message”) with contact info, project information (application, EAU, etc) and a bit more articulation about the information sought/problem at hand, I can pass it on and see what comes back.
