Hi, I need some help identifying part numbers.
I have a J2 10C WJ aluminum electrolyic capacitor
I think they are a Nichicon capacitor.
What I think so far.
J2 is the lot number
I can’t figure out the 10 ? is it the capacitance ? 10 uf ?
is the C the voltage 10 volts ?
is the WJ the series ? and is it in fact a Nichicon capacitor ?
I also need.
-
1R 100 6.3v = 1R lot no. 100 capacitance and 6.3 volts
-
1S 22 6.3 = 1S lot no. 22 capacitance and 6.3 volts
-
1N 47 6.3 = 1N lot no. 47 capacitance and 6.3 volts
-
again J2 10C WJ = J2 10 capacitance ? C voltage ? and WJ series ?
I’m looking for proper part numbers and or a cross reference for the above items, part numbers.
Your help would be very appreciated.
Thank You ,
David
Hello, welcome to the TechForum!
Here is a list of capacitors I was able to find in our system for these values, but you will need to confirm the physical size of your parts to confirm which ones will work for you.
Hi Rob, Thank you for your time.
Could you tell me if I’m reading the capacitor properly?
1-3 are pretty straight forward but, no. 4 has me confused.
I need to confirm is 10C in fact 10 uf and the C in fact 10 volts ?
J2 10C WJ
Thanks,David
Hello davhavranek,
The WJ is the series, the JC is the lot code, 10 is the capacitance value, and C means it is rated for 16V. This information is outlined on Nichicon’s datasheet for the WJ series:
Unfortunately, as evidenced HERE, these are obsolete and no longer available. There are, however plenty of substitutes to choose from using the link below.

Hi Klint,
Thanks for the clarification. I guess I had brain freeze! I guess I couldn’t get over the fact that the other caps I was looking for were 6.3 volts and that one was 16 volts.
Thank very much for help and time.
Much appreciated,
David
