A website’s parametric search is a handy tool a person can use to narrow down their search, if not help them directly find the part for which they are looking. These tools can be used to narrow a search to almost any search parameter like brand name, package size, operating voltage, etc. Most electronic component distributors have some sort of parametric search available on their website.
The ways to access these search tools across various websites are too numerous to list here, however, most of them operate in a similar fashion where you can begin with a generic search term and filter down various parameters from there. I recall from class that Dave Jones of the EEVBlog has a fabulous video on parametric searches and how to use them to your advantage. I strongly encourage anyone who is struggling with finding parts that meet their needs to watch Dave’s video.
