I hope you are doing well.
We are planning to place a bulk order of approximately 1,000 units of the ESP-WROOM-02D-N4 module. Before proceeding, we need to confirm a critical technical requirement regarding firmware.
We recently purchased a small quantity of this module from Digi-Key and verified that those units were delivered with AT firmware preloaded. During testing, the modules responded correctly via UART with standard AT commands.
For our application, it is essential that all modules include functional AT firmware out of the box.
Could you please confirm the following:

Whether all units currently in stock of ESP-WROOM-02D-N4 are preloaded with AT firmware.

Whether this condition is consistent across the entire lot (i.e., no mixed batches with and without firmware).

The exact AT firmware version currently programmed in this stock (for example, the output of the “AT+GMR” command).

Confirmation that the modules respond to standard AT commands such as:

“AT” → expecting “OK”

“AT+GMR” → firmware version response

“AT+RST” → reset and boot message

If you have traceability information regarding manufacturing date or lot codes for the current stock.
We would like to explicitly verify the firmware version to ensure full compatibility with our system requirements and regulatory/use conditions in Argentina.
We are aware that Espressif has issued a Product Change Notice (PCN) indicating that newer production batches may not include AT firmware preloaded. Therefore, it is essential for us to confirm that the modules supplied in our order meet the above requirements.
If possible, please also confirm whether the available stock corresponds to pre-PCN production or if any additional programming has been performed prior to shipment.
This requirement is critical for our production process, as our system relies on UART communication using AT commands and does not include a programming step for the ESP module.
