Does anyone know the tray orientation for the ST STM32H723VEH6? The orientation is not listed in the datasheet or in the technical documentation on ST’s website for the part
Hello clarson,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.
I’m not sure where you found out that this part is on a tray package. We have it marked as bulk packaging but the only resource I found from ST Microelectronics is in a technical article on their website:
Tape and reel shipping media for STM32 microcontrollers in BGA packages
shows that these come on a reel. Orientation is shown on page 9 for all the packages listed there including the TFBGA that STM32H723VEH6 is in.
I saw no other information on TFBGA packaging in regards to STM32 microcontrollers other than a reel.
Hi again clarson,
Seems I missed the Tray package of STM32H723VEH6. It does claim it is a tray but I could still not find what type of orientation is on it.
STM32H723VE - High-performance and DSP with DP-FPU, Arm Cortex-M7 MCU with 512 Kbytes Flash, 564 Kbytes RAM, 550 MHz CPU, L1 cache, external memory interface, subset of peripherals - STMicroelectronics
I’ll reach out to ST Microelectronics on this and see if they can provide more information about it.
I have not found any specific documentation for this part, but the industry standard for parts on a tray is for the tray to have a chamfered corner, and pin one of each part is oriented toward that tray chamfer.
Example:
I’ve gotten a reply from STMicroelectronics on this. Below is what they stated:
“The tray chamfer on the top left top side of the tray, pin 1 (identified with the chamfer and/or notch) of the units must be on the top left side.”
There was no other documentation provided but hope that helps.
That would agree with the industry standard as I described above.
