For part 1K000003 Keys from Storm Interface, if you are wondering why the received part looks like the image below or whether it is corrosion, please note that we have already clarified this with the manufacturer.
This is not corrosion. The appearance is normal and the part has been supplied correctly as intended by the manufacturer.
As per the manufacturer: The manufacturing process requires two spring fingers to fit inside the key recess to allow the plating current to flow across the part so the key can be plated.
The plating process can produce process differences where the spring clips are fitted so resulting in discolouration.
This discolouration is not on the product visible face and therefore not to be considered a problem or warranty issue.
