Good afternoon,
My customer has a damaged Sunon Axial fan model # EEC0251B2-00U-GB9. I cannot find that fan anywhere including in the Sunon catalog. I found DigiKey part # 259-1480-ND which is Sunon # EEC0251B2-000U-A99. I believe the DigiKey part will work but I am unsure of the specs on the unit we have. Could you please advise if the DigiKey part is a cross ref.
Thanks,
Brian Thomas

Thank you for contacting DigiKey , this fan part number EEC0251B2-00U-GB9 looks to be a custom made part for the OEM the 00U is a callout for the customer code and the GB9 is a callout for a sensor or other type of modification , I do not know what those modifications are . The EEC0251B2-000U-A99 is just a 2 wire fan with no sensors or modifications .
Thanks Craig
The “00U” customer code is typical of off-the-shelf product, the suffix indicates control/monitoring functions as described here.
I’m not finding a definition for a “GB9” suffix either though the similar G99 suffix would indicate a tachometer function. The -A99 part on hand would have the same mechanical characteristics as the prior unit, but if the application in question is designed to depend on the extra function (e.g. it shuts down if a fan failure is detected) then a replacement lacking that function would not be appropriate.
There’s a series of posts beginning here discussing fans of this type in some depth if a person would like to understand differences and selection criteria for the product type.
