USB-C - RP2040 with power delivery

Hello,

I have connected a RP2040 to a smartphone, using USB-C, and I able to access to the rp2040 as a serial device. But, I want to be able to comunicate with rp2040 as a serial device, and be able to charge the smartphone at the same time. What USB-C chip should I use, or consider?

Welcome to the Digikey tech forum. I don’t know of an option to offer you for this, but that’s what’s nice about using the forum , perhaps someone has done something similar to this and can post their information.

I don’t think I ever found a way to charge my phone while using a USB connected peripheral (in my case a numeric keypad for test bench data entry).

However I was able to extend the phone’s battery life by using a powered USB hub. With the hub in the circuit, the peripheral does not draw any power from the phone’s USB OTG connection.
