If you’re setting up Silicon Labs’ EFR32xG22E Energy Harvesting Explorer Kit for the first time, the application may take some time to start, depending on the capacitor’s initial charge. Here’s how you can speed up the charging process and get the kit running faster.
To speed things up, simply move the jumper from the auxiliary connector (right side) to the “Charge Current Limit” position on the top-left corner of the shield. Then connect the board to a charger through the USB-C port.
This enables fast charging, helping the capacitor reach the required voltage much quicker. You can monitor the charge level at the STO connector using a voltmeter — the voltage should be between 2.5 V (empty) and 3.8 V (fully charged).
