X-ray different of TI part SN74LVC1G34DCKT & DCKR

This two parts supposedly only differ by the package, but we find that the bonding is actually different.

  1. Is this normal practice for TI parts?
  2. Does this happen if they were manufactured by the same plant?
  3. How do one identify if a part is authentic or not provided with lot number, date code, etc.?

Thank you!

Most integrated circuit manufacturers do not guarantee what the physical internal design of the IC will be like. They only guarantee the outer physical characteristics as well as the electrical and environmental operating characteristics per the part’s data sheet.

To get other aspects guaranteed requires working directly with the manufacturer. In the case of a very large company like TI, it will usually require a multi-million dollar component order.
