Adding an item to a list takes way too many clicks

I’ve starting using the list feature more, and I’m finding it takes way too many clicks to add a part to a list. A run through:

  1. On a part page, click “Add to List”
  2. On the popup, the first UI error is that “New List” is prechecked when it’s far more likely I’ll be adding to an existing list. Making me click on “Existing List” is the first excess click, that should be the default.
  3. After clicking on “Existing List” the pull down should be automatic. There is nothing else to do, but I still have to click on “select an option”. This is the 2nd excess click
  4. Then I click on the menu item
  5. Then I have to click on “Add to List”. This also seems excessive, but I imagine UI people might argue this.

Still, every added part takes 5 clicks when it could be only two. That gets old very fast.

You can skip step 2, just click the pulldown and select the list you want.

So I do.

  1. Click Add to List
  2. Click Select an Option
  3. Select a list
  4. Click Add to List

It would be neat to just have the drop down list instead of the first button and automatic add once the list is selected.
