config-pin are incompatible with the proposed kernel 6.12.57-bone40. Is a new version available anywhere? Or how should configuration of gpios be done now?

Hi @jochen.schneider , due to major libgpio rewrite/cleanup/etc in v6.x’s kernels config-pin no longer work’s as is..
It’s best to use specific overlays, for gpio-led, gpio-key… or devmem2 to hit the pinctrl register directly..

Hi Robert, thanks for your answer, I’m not very happy with this solution. Perhaps it will be best to stay with v5.x kernels for now.

I know, v5.10.x still works for many users. For gpio-output, gpio-led is a good overlay, input is still a little painful, but config-pin special modes will be very hard. There are more libgpio changes incoming, so waiting too see how that develops down the road..
