AMPERITE TIMER RELAY

I am looking for an old Amperite CR Series timer relay. I was told they are no longer making these. Would you all be able to come up with a cross?

Amperite # : 12DNOR5XC
CR SERIES
Contacts: 1A @ 30V DC Resistive
1/2 A @ 115V AC

Hello @JGarrison

Welcome to the TechForum

Looking at the datasheet I found for the Amperite CR series that I found the closest 2-part number I could find are part number KSDB120P which is a 0.1 to 10 second adjustable timer relay and part number KSDB113SP which is a fixed 3 second relay. both of these relays are not direct drop-in replacements for the 12DNOR5XC as they do not have the same package, and these are the only 2 parts that I found that are as close as possible to the 12DNOR5XC.

Hi JGarrison,

I believe the KSPSP22B can perform the function you need. The image we provide is inaccurate, as the KSPSP22B has an on-board potentiometer to adjust the timing, which includes the option of 5 seconds, like your part.

It would look similar to this:

They both have the output characteristic of “Delay-on-Break” in which the output contacts are closed when the trigger input contacts are closed and the timing for delayed turn-off is initiated when the trigger contacts are opened. If, during the time that the output contacts are still closed, the trigger contacts reclose, the timing will reset to zero and the timing starts again when the trigger contacts open again.

Here’s the description and timing diagram for your 12DNOR5XC:

Here’s the description and timing diagram for the KSPSP22B:

Note that these both have the same functionality. The extra portion of the behavior in the diagram above is graphically showing what was only described in the last sentence of the 12DNOR5XC of the “Timing Mode” description, quoted again here:

“The timing cycle may be reset to zero during the timing cycle
by reactivating the trigger input terminal.”
