We’re currently using the AS7331-AQFM OLGA16 LF T sensors in a product we’re developing. Their website shows the product lifecycle status as “not planned for new design”. I also see that digikey lists a PCN stating that they changed fabricators and that new product will be shipped soon. Does anyone have clarity on this situation or solid ams-osram contact info? I’ve not heard back from the inquiry I left on their website and can’t find a good number to call or email. Appreciate the help!
“not planned for new design” translates to “not recommended for new design,” meaning that prospects for future availability aren’t looking so good and that developing a new product with an item thus designated is not advised.
Application of sufficient $$$ can often rectify such difficulties, but short of annual transaction values well into the 7+ figures on such an item, selection of a different part for your design would be advisable.
