Below are the included parts for the assembly of the Braccio Arm, 1050-1135-ND, from Arduino’s manual for the arm.
Included parts
Assembly of the Shoulder
Assembly of the Elbow
Assembly of the Base
Assembly of Vertical & Rotatory Wrist
Assembly of the Gripper
As the robot arm is being assembled, make note of the routes for cable management that are molded into the design.
At the base of the Braccio robot arm is a pass-through for the cables. To get them to all fit, the hole does need to widened. To do this, a de-burring tool, like 40-DB-5-ND, is used to minimize the cracking of the molded plastic.
The robotic arm should be mounted to a heavy base. The weight is needed as the arm will act as a lever as it moves around. If the attached base it to light, the arm will fall over and potentially be damaged. The base used for this assembly is a Hammond internal panel HM5416-ND.
DIN rail is also attached to the base to mount the Arduino for controlling the robot arm.
