Regarding chemicals entering the switch:
The switch is not sealed, so if any chemicals enter it during post-processing conditions (such as washing, coating, or potting), they may react with the contact area. This can lead to an increase in contact resistance, potentially reaching a point where an open circuit condition is registered electrically.
