Can Maxwell supercaps be conformal coated to improve humidity tolerance?

Welcome to the TechForum. Please refer to the Notes on Using Ultracapacitor Cells linked HERE. They state in this document to “Please contact Maxwell if cleaning is needed after soldering. Certain types of solvents may cause damage to rubber seals on ultracapacitor cells.”
Since some conformal coatings are applied using solvent-based carriers, their compatibility with ultracapacitor seals is not addressed in Maxwell documentation and may present a risk depending on the chemistry used. Maxwell may be the best source to answer to your question.
