When dealing with Aluminum electrolytic capacitors from Chemi-Con we often come across small differences in part numbers such as the D and R in our example. According to the manufacturer on their website, as seen below, the 9th digit, in this case R and D respectively, refers to the type of reel they are packaged on. R stands for plastic reels and D stands for cardboard reels.
