Connectors with earthing cones

Hi,

We are working with a European group and they are asking us to use connectors with earthing cones. I only see earthing cones being sold by European distributors. Does Digi-Key have anything like this? From what I can see, the earthing cone connector just looks like a regular connector.

Best Regards,
Chris

Hello fisichel Welcome to the forum.

I was wondering first off is what type of connector are you using? That might help to determine what they are referring to as earthing cones.

The earthing cone I believe is used for shielding/grounding of a cable. Also referred to as EMC.
These are made to connect to the braiding of the Cable to help ground.
I was doing some searching and the products that show up are Cable Glands. For example These Options are set up for EMC.
Here is what I believe they are referring to

Also this was taken from the Datasheet showing how it will look connected

I hope this will help you out.
If you have any questions Please let us know.
thanks,
Paul

We may have a number of connector lines with a grounding cone, but the at a minimum, the E, K, and T series from LEMO have earthing cones.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for replying. Thank you for presenting some options for us to choose from. We don’t have an exact connector we are trying to mate, we just need these earthing (grounding cones). I will try to find a suitable connector from the options you presented.

Chris

Do either of you two gentlemen know if Amphenol offers connectors with ground cones?

Hello,
I did find a Series from Amphenol that might work.
Amphenol FLOK series

There is not a way to filter for that particular part.
At this time this is what I could find, but will see if anything else appears.

Okay, thank you. I do appreciate your efforts. I am trying Molex, Mill-Max, Kyocera, JAE, EDAC and am not coming up with anything.

Hi Chris,

It looks to me like the Amphenol Sine Systems series C091D+ probably has them. They refer to a “shielding clamp” in some of their diagrams, which looks like the same thing.

I believe the ODU Mini-SnapK series also has what they call EMI rings, which appear to be the same thing.

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for finding these amphenol series. I never would have found them. If you find anything else, please feel free to post it. Otherwise, I will work with the FLK and Sine series.

Best Regards,
Chris
