When looking for LT1963 parts from ADI, you may find 2 different part numbers. One comes with the suffix code “A”, such as LT1963AES8#PBF and one comes without that suffix code “A”, such as LT1963ES8#PBF. What is the difference between these two?
Suffix “A” indicates a newer, pin compatible design that is stable with very low ESR capacitors such as ceramic caps, in addition to tantalum and electrolytic, while devices without the “A” suffix cannot generally tolerate these devices.
