Digilent offers their Nexys A7 FPGA dev board, part number 410-292, to aid in designing these powerful but complex products into your application. The board doesn’t come with a power supply, though. Is there a recommended power supply for this device? How do you power it?
Per page 7 of the board’s manual, the Nexys A7 can be powered either via USB via the device’s JTAG port, J6, or via an external power supply. Under normal circumstances it draws about 400mA of power, but if you need more than that you can use a 5V power supply with a 2.1mmx5.5mm barrel output plug, such as L6R06H-050 from Tri-Mag.
