DTB4848 PID Control Options

For DTB4848 PID Control, the instruction manual states the following:

However, it is unclear to me what exactly PID0, PID1, PID2, PID3, and PID4 (auto) are referring to here. My best guess is that one can autotune for different target temperatures and when in PID4 (auto) mode, if you change your target temperature then it will pick whichever set of PID parameters is closest (or optimized for it or whatever). For my application, I really only care about one temperature. So is it best practice and will it achieve my goal if I just set it to say, PID0 and run the autotune? Also what is the instruction manual referring to when they say IOF?

Thank you!

Hello vikstrom,

This is a good question, regarding the IOF in the instruction manual I also couldn’t find anything, however IOF typically stands for Input Offset so my suggestion is based off of that. If you only care about one temperature, then setting to PID0 running the autotune and using the IOF to apply any corrections to the input signal if the measured temperature is slightly off would be the route I would suggest. I don’t have a lot of experience with this product but from your question and the datasheet that’s what it looks like from my interpretation.
