I see in Figure 3.1, it say “Use low ESR capacitors
for filtering the power supply. The capacitors need to cope with the current ripple cause by chopper
operation. A minimum capacity of 100µF near the driver is recommended for best performance.”
I’m not an engineer, but I would not recommend going lower than 100uf, because they are designed to smooth out the power supply to the circuit.
Maybe an engineer may be able to add to this, and give their recommendations.
