Increasing RF silent disco headphone range

Hello team,

Greetings from Australia! I am after some guidance on purchasing this product:

[bgcolor=#ffffff]I run a silent disco event company and am looking to extend the range from our stock transmitter to our headsets. They currently work to about 500m and our goal is an increase to 1km.

These are the details of our transmitter:
TX-5ORF UHF/RF FM Stereo Transmitter plugs into power and then via RCA cables to a DJ decks which controls the music.

The current transmitter antenna runs on a 920 mhz frequency and has an output of:

This is then broadcasted to the silent disco headset!

The antenna supports your 920 MHz operating frequency. It provides substantial 13 dBi directional gain. Your 22 dBm transmitter outputs about 158 mW.
Combined EIRP could reach approximately 35 dBm. That may exceed applicable Australian EIRP limits. Check your transmitter’s ACMA compliance documentation first. The antenna also has a narrow vertical beam. Therefore, placement and antenna height become important. It may suit audiences positioned mainly forward. An omnidirectional antenna may better suit surrounding crowds. Confirm receiver sensitivity and your existing antenna gain. Then calculate the complete RF link budget.
