I’ve purchased a couple of TDA7294V’s for an amplifier project I’m doing. It appears that I need some insulators to go between the chip and the heatsink. The package ordered from Digikey did not come with any. I have two questions:
what insulators do I need to order for the 15-Multiwatt package
should I use the contact paste on both sides of the insulator (or do I need any at all)?

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.
We do not have a pad specifically for the package size of TDA7294V, that already had the mount hole in it.
One that you can use, and cut to fit, is part number 1168-TI900-24-21.01-0.12-0-ND.
This pad will be electrically isolating, and Thermally conductive. So it would not need any additional paste applied.
Just remember to make sure, how you fasten it to the heatsink, will be electrically isolating as well.
