An ITT Cannon connector was ordered from the KPT Series. Looking at the data sheet it shows a cylindrical hole on the side. The product, however, has an oval, or peanut, shaped hole. Is this the incorrect part?
We have contacted ITT Cannon on this issue and they have confirmed that the part can come in either configuration.
Per the requirements of Mil-DTL-26482, both the round and “peanut” or lima bean hole are acceptable and qualified by ITT. It was also noted that the round hole is actually the alternate hole design in the specification.
