Luminance vs. Luminous Intensity

Luminous Intensity, commonly measured in candela, is a measure of the spatial density of light energy that is perceived by the Human eye.
Luminance, measured in candela per square meter, is a measure of luminous intensity in a certain direction. It is commonly used to describe emitted or reflected light from a flat surface.
