MAX17320 Eval Kit GUI for Linux

Is there a way to use the MAX17320 Eval Kit with a Linux computer instead of Windows 10? I see there is a Linux driver, but I am not sure what that is used for.

Thanks!

Hello Mark, and welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

From what I can see on the datasheet, it does state PC with Windows 7 or newer under required equipment.
Also, I do not see the MAX17320 listed under these Linux Drivers

Hi nick_13812!

The MAX17320 product page on the Analog Devices website lists a Linux Driver for the MAX17320 - https://www.analog.com/en/resources/evaluation-hardware-and-software/software/software-download.html?swpart=SFW0006130D. That is the driver I was referring to. I am not sure what it is used for.

Hi @mark, you’ll need to use Analog Devices configuration software in Windows, just tried it in wine, didn’t get too far into the msi installer before crashing…

In my VM, the software, is looking for a usb device, so you should be able to bridge the usb interface in VirtualBox/etc…

The Linux driver, is to help you integrate the final product into your end application.

The software gui is used to help configure your device parameters.
