Hey y’all. So I’m trying to rig up a data cable for my Yaesu FTM-300. The connector on the radio is a ten pin female “Hosiden” connector. Is that just a fancy name for mini-DIN? Is there a male 10 pin connector that would mate with it on the site that can be mounted on the end of a cable?
Would you have images of the connector on the radio for reference?
As the examples of “Hosiden” connector I see online do look very similar to the Mini-Din.
I too also see examples of other connectors that they make or have their name on that don’t look very mini-din.
This is it right here. I’m saying it’s a mini-DIN, but Wikipedia says it’s Hosiden, and mini-DIN is actually incorrect
Hosiden is the name of a manufacturer. While likely a variant of the standardized mini-DIN connector, it would not appear to be part of the standard. I see no offerings among our listings which I could suggest as likely compatible.
By the time one sources the bits and pieces, one doesn’t likely come out much ahead of simply buying a pre-assembled cable from the usual ham radio shops.
That’s about right. A manufactured cable probably has better connections in the assembly anyhow. Thanks for looking at it for me.
