New feature: Shared license pool for test automation

What does it mean?

We’ve added support for shared license pool for Otii Automation Toolboxes, making it easier to manage test automation across multiple machines.

With this feature, you can now create a pool of licenses that are automatically shared among a group of test automation computers. This is especially useful when you have more automation servers than licenses — instead of assigning licenses to specific machines, they’re dynamically allocated as needed.

How it works?

To ensure smooth execution, your test scripts can be configured to wait for a license to become available before starting a test. You need to define how long the script should wait for access to the license pool, giving you flexibility and control over test scheduling.

How to set it up?

You need the latest SW release 3.5.5 and Otii TCP Client for Python v1.0.11 to set it up. Detailed steps for the setup are described in the documentation – check it out here.
