The StrongHold Step-Down Butt Splice Series from Panduit are designed to splice two solid or stranded wires together to repair or extend the wires, and are suitable for 6-14 AWG to 8-18 AWG.

If you measure the inner diameter of the splice, you may find that the measured result is larger than the diameter ‘B’ listed on the drawing. For example, measuring the inner diameter of ESV10-ESV18-Q may yield a result of 6.24 – 6.26mm, although the dimension B is 0.236 in [6.0mm].
Confirmed by Panduit, the “B” dimension is referring to the insulation of the wire going into the connector. This is not referring to the inside diameter of the splice.
