Products in the programmable display switch family combine display functionality as an electrically controllable switch label or legend based on OLED, LCD, E-ink, or similar visible display technology with a switch function for user interface purposes.


SelectionCharacteristics

Type: Refers to the specific combination of display technology and actuation mechanism.

Display Mode: Describes the color and display technology incorporated in a device.

LED Color: Describes the color of the LED used to back-light the display on the switch face.

Viewing Area: The dimensions of the portion of a display that is usable for showing images or characters.

Face Size: Overall dimensions of the switch face.

Pixel Format: Refers to the resolution or size of the display screen in terms of the number of pixels it can accommodate.

Circuit: Describes device function in terms of several poles and throws, as is typical for mechanical switches. For more information please see Switch Basics, Examples of Pole and Throw.

Switch Function: Refers to the specific operation or behavior of a switch, indicating the primary purpose or mode of operation. For more information please see Switch Basics, Examples of Pole and Throw.

Contact Rating @ Voltage: Typically this represents the maximum current to which a device’s contacts will meet their given specifications at a given voltage. Exceeding this current may damage the device and other system components.

Supply Voltage: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the low and high voltage limits one can expect in standard operation. Voltages outside this range may damage the device and other system components.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.

Termination Style: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as a PC pin or connector.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
