There are all sorts of announcements of manufacturers acquiring certain product lines and other companies all the time. I wanted to provide a little insight about transitioning product over to the new manufacturer that might help you determine if DigiKey now carries that product. While these notices are often dropped suddenly, it doesn’t mean the whole line of product is instantly transferred over to the catalog. The truth is, the period of time it takes to merge product lines is quite a slow process. There is even a possibility where the main manufacturer decides to no longer produce certain products because it does not fit in their normal wheelhouse.
Let me provide an example. Heraeus was acquired by Yageo Nexensos in 2022. If you click on our line card link here, these are the kinds of products we carry from Heraeus Nexensos. Heraues did make adhesives at one point, but if you check both categories (thermal and regular adhesive), you will notice that Yageo Nexensos is not listed in the manufacturer column. This would suggest that those products either did not make it to Yageo’s line or are not currently available in our system.
