J-Link Edu Mini from Segger Microcontroller Systems’ is a handy, inexpensive programmer/debugger for ARM microcontrollers, aimed at hobbyists and makers as well as the education space. The DigiKey website lists the contents of this product as “Board(s)”, but it’s depicted with a ribbon cable as well as the board. What does this product include, when ordered from DigiKey?
This product does ship with its depicted 20-position ribbon cable. Unfortunately, while the product’s documentation cites that all ‘J-Link family parts’ come with a USB cable as well, the EDU Mini is an exception - USB cabling is not included and must be ordered separately. Most of the part’s product documentation depicts it with a USB Micro-B connector, but be aware that per an August 2024 PCN, newer versions of the board use a USB-C connector instead. DigiKey has a variety of both USB A to C cables for the new devices, as well as A to Micro B cables for older/existing products.
Further information on use of the product can be found in Segger’s extensive manual for the product, here: J-Link / J-Trace User Guide
