SN78MCDCYR vs UA78M05CDCYR

I have reviewed the TI datasheet for the above items, and cannot tell the difference between them - is there a difference?

Well, I am not sure where the part numbering difference comes from, maybe from an old acquisition, but, according to the TI website, they are identical parts. See snip from their website here:

SN has historically been a prefix for TI IC’s and UA was a prefix for Fairchild IC’s.

78 series linear regulators used to come with LM, MA, MC, SE, SN and UA prefixes depending on the manufacturer. (I may have missed a manufacturer or two)
