Stock and lead time

------Question for BAT42W-7-F Please Put your question below------

Hi, I was just wondering, what is the difference between DigiKey’s factory stock vs In-stock section? Does this affect the lead time by any way? Does factory stock still follow the standard lead time, say 12 weeks for BAT42W-7-F?

Thanks.

Hi @patrickbassett28 ,

Welcome to DigiKey TechForum and thanks for your inquiry.

In-Stock measns the product is stored in DigiKey warehouse.

Factory Stock means that this is stock that is available at the supplier which may be available to DigiKey upon receipt of order.

The confusion point here would seem to be what is meant by “Factory stock.” Those figures represent material that is not on the shelf and ready to ship from DigiKey, but indicated as existing at the manufacturer’s warehouse. The significance being that product in stock at the factory usually takes less time to procure than product which has yet to be manufactured.

Hello @Angus_Lai

Thank you for the warm greeting and your response to my question.

That makes sense. But does the inventory for factory stock auto-update as frequently as the stock indicated on DigiKey? I am asking this because it’s been 2 weeks since I’ve seen DMN2100UDM-7 by Diodes Inc. stocked in its supplier’s factory at 27,000.

Thanks.

The quantity of the “Factory stock” represent material stored in the manufacturer’s warehouse. When DigiKey’s inventroy is “zero”, manufacturer’s warehouse will ship the “Factory stock” from the supplier to DigiKey. Therefore, the quantity at “Factory stock” is not typically updated or changed unless the DigiKey inventroy is empty.
Thank you.
