Switch kits typically contain one type of switch (tactile, pushbutton, slide, etc.), but can have a mix of current and voltage ratings along with circuit and mounting types. Each kit has varying quantities of switches in them. There are panel mount, through-hole, surface mount, R/A, and snap-in available. Circuit types include an assorted mix, SPDT, SPDT-NO, and SPST-NO.
SelectionCharacteristics
Kit Type: A general description of the function and contents of the kit.
Quantity: Indicates the number of pieces contained in the kit.
Current - Switching: The maximum current the switch is rated to interrupt. Indicates the span of current switching values in the kit.
Voltage Rating - AC: Typically this represents the maximum AC voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components. Indicates the span of AC voltage values included in the kit.
Voltage Rating - DC: Typically this represents the maximum DC voltage rating to which a device will meet its given specifications. Exceeding this voltage rating may damage the device and other system components. Indicates the span of DC voltage values included in the kit.
Actuator Type: Form factor of the device’s mechanical interface.
Circuit: Describes device function in terms of a number of poles and throws, as is typical for mechanical switches. For more information please see: Switch Basics, Examples of Pole and Throw
Mounting Type: Indicates how the devices in the kit can be attached.
Termination Style: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as PC pin, quick connect, or wire leads.
