is a Molex IDC (Insulation Displacement Technology) type 3 conductor connector.
I’m using a 3 conductor cable to wire this connector. I’m not using a ribbon cable, I’m not using a telecommunications cable…just a couple of these custom cables by hand on the bench. Do I use a crimping tool. ? It looks like maybe I lay the wires into a metal stamping, then slide the stamping into the plastic connector housing and maybe break off the tab portion of the metal stamping. I’ve never done this, I need help! Thanks

That’s the basic idea, though “press” might be more on point than “lay” insofar as there’s some force necessary to Displace the Insulation. Use whatever tools are available, trial, and error to achieve the task in a one-off/non-critical/non-production context. If quality and consistency of result matter, use one of the prescribed applicator tools such as the 0621000700.
