SelectionCharacteristics

Output Code: Describes the pattern by which the legend on the switch face translates into electrical signals on the switch’s output connector.

Read Out: Indicates the range of values displayed on a switch face across its range of travel.

Number of Sections: The number of switch modules contained within a product as sold; the number of switches in an array.

Display Characters - Height: Indicates the vertical dimension of the digits/letters used by a device to visually display information about some quantity measured or controlled by a device.

Actuator Type: The specific design or style of the mechanism used to change the switch position.

Contact Rating @ Voltage: Typically this represents the maximum current to which a device’s contacts will meet their given specifications at a given voltage. Exceeding this current may damage the device and/or other system components.

Contact Material: The material used for switch contacts.

Contact Finish: Indicates the finish/plating material applied to the contacts of the device.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.

Termination Style: Selection of termination style used to connect the device to a system, such as PC pin, or screw terminal.

End Caps: Indicates whether end caps used for completion of a modular assembly are included or sold separately.

Section Width: The center distance between devices when stacked together in an array.

Panel Cutout Dimensions: Refers to the measurements or dimensions of the opening or cutout in the panel.

Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as a dust lens, or sealed contacts.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
