We’ve had inquiries coming in for part markings that customers believed to be incorrect for BAT54S-E3-18 and BAT54S-E3-08. The parts were changed in 2024 to have a new type code “L48” which is shown in the current revision of the datasheet, but older date codes will still have the old marking of “L44” which is no longer referenced in the datasheet. Eventually you’ll stop seeing these old markings in distribution channels, but for a while yet some of these old markings will still be circulating.
Here’s what I found regarding this update, to clear up any confusion:
- The series underwent a production change in 2024, which does not affect the specification of the product but did result in a marking change:
– The details are vague in this PCN because the marking change was different for each series affected, but it is important because this shows the date the change took place. It changes the “type marking” code but not the standardized date code information.
- The date marking for BAT54x diode arrays shows what year the parts were produced. For example, 2021 = VN, document linked here:
- An old copy of the datasheet, from back in 2022, shows the correct type mark as “L44,” linked here.
