What is the difference between these capacitors?

What is the difference between the following muRata capacitors with similar part numbers? :

muRata GRM033R61C104KE84D

muRata GRM033R61C104KE18D

muRata GRM033R61C104KE14D

The data spec sheet says the E** code is an “Individual Specification : This denotes Murata control code.” except in certain circumstances, for which these capacitors don’t fall under.

Welcome to the forum.

Only one of them is available for purchase at DigiKey :slight_smile:

But seriously, from a design engineering and component replacement perspective there will be no difference. If there was a functional difference Murata’s data sheet would specify the difference.

@jimmer90

Of the 3 the only one I am not seeing listed on our site and Murata’s is the E84.

As for the differences in the items we do list (GRM033R61C104KE14D and GRM033R61C104KE18D) the graphs on the Murata’s site was the only differences I had found.

Murata has an FAQ for the Individual Specification Code on their ceramic capacitors.

Its a roundabout way of saying the codes are internal to Murata and the patterns do not mean much unless you’re looking at simulations.

Basically what they meant is an E84 will not mean the same thing between two separate capacitance values/voltages within the same series, you have to look at the individual simulations to see the differences.
