Will a CUSA-TR65-065-2200-W68 air transducer take a sound waver from a wave form generator

------Question for CUSA-TR65-065-2200-W68 Please Put your question below------

Thank you for your inquiry.

As long as you give it a signal from 38.4 to 41.5kHz frequency and has up to 150V peak to peak voltage you should be able to drive this with a waveform generator.

I was looking at the SMATR18H40X4K3 Transducer if I am running around 72 of them. I assume that I would need a ultrasonic Generator to run that many?

Sent you an email the other day hoping you can help me with my question on running the air transducers. If you can’t help me provide me some one who can, or is there some where I could get something built?

Thank you for your follow up.

The part number SMATR18H40X4K3 is not coming up anywhere for me. Do you have more information on this?

I’m asking my team if anyone has any input on running 72 ultrasonic transducers. We’ll get back as soon as there is any information.

Not sure why but its not coming up for me either. Maybe you can help me need is a 40 to 60 khz air transducer or possible transmitter as I don’t need to receive the signal back just transmit it. That can accommodate a wave from wave form generator, or a Synthesized Function Generator. and would I need additional power for running 72 of them.
Edward

It’s very hard to give you a straight answer based on information presented.

However, any ultrasonic transducer or transmitter will require appropriate driver circuitry so as to drive it to the levels specified in its respective datasheet. They are generally not designed for variable amplitude signals, though it may be possible to do so. Generally speaking, they are designed to transmit square waves at some specified duty cycle.

The input to each driver would need to be compatible with whatever device is sending the desired signal to each driver.

A “Synthesized Function Generator” typically outputs one, or at most, a few waveforms at a relatively low voltage level. As mentioned above, some sort of driver would typically be required between this and any transmitter to get to the appropriate drive levels.

If one intended to drive 72 separate transmitters, then, unless one intends to drive all of them with the exact same signal simultaneously, one would need either many of these function generators, or one would have to design some sort of multiplexing system to select which transmitter is to transmit at any given time and cycle through all of the transmitters as desired.

This would be a very complex design.

I only want to sent 1 signal on all of the transducers. Willing to compensate you for your time if you can help me put together the components needed to drive them.
You will need to send me an address and I will send you some compensation for your time. This is for a science project hopping to complete it and this is what is holding me up.
thank you for your time Edward
