We sometimes get questions on the MSL ratings for 25AA256 and derivative parts, where there appears to be conflicting information between the listed moisture sensitivity level and what is shown on the actual packaging of the product.
It looks like if the items are from the ASSH assembly location, these can be shipped as MSL 3. It is also likely that the manufacturer ships all of these in MSL 3 packaging and marked as so to reduce confusion at the manufacturer location(s) for some items.
Basically, when a factory location has multiple MSL ratings among the product they manufacture, they put everything in packaging for the highest level produced at their facility to prevent any sensitive parts from being placed in inappropriate packaging.
