3M is a wide-ranging company that makes a selection of just about everything. One such example of everything is D3408-5202-AR, a simple rectangular header with latching hooks on either end. Recently, we’ve had a few folks ask if the connectors are defective due to there being some wiggle/play in the mating connection once the header latches onto its mating plug. Is this a defective-product issue?
Fortunately, no. A little bit of play is fine, even expected in many cases, on these devices. So long as the hooks correctly click into place around the plug, there’s no reason to be concerned over defective or damaged product due to a little bit of wiggle.
