9448A-4-11 temperature spec

------Question for 9448A-4-11 Please Put your question below------

Temperature stated at the website is 21C ~ 38C, but the attached datasheet temperature tolerance is 70C ~ 150C. Please clarify

Dear @kent_low1010,

Thank you for your question.

The two temperature ranges refer to different characteristics of the tape.

21°C to 38°C (70°F to 100°F) is the recommended application temperature. This is the ideal temperature range when applying the tape to achieve optimal wet-out and adhesive contact with the bonding surfaces.

70°C to 150°C refers to the temperature resistance of the tape after it has been properly applied. According to the 3M technical documentation, the tape can withstand up to 150°C for short-term exposure (minutes to hours) and 70–90°C for long-term exposure (days to weeks), depending on the version of the datasheet.

Therefore, there is no contradiction between the specifications. The website lists the recommended installation temperature, while the datasheet specifies the operating temperature resistance of the bonded tape after application.
