About R5F212B7SDFP(renesas) microcontroller's IC

Hello everyone.

Who can advise me about transfer file form original IC to new IC?

my e-mail is el.dechmon@gmail.com If you need another detail.

best regard.

Hello el.dechmon and welcome to the DigiKey Techforum.

Can you clarify your request? What is the original IC that you have and what is the new IC you are wanting to transfer files to?

Hi el.dechmon,

If you are trying to copy the code programmed into an R5F212B7SDFP and program another identical chip with the copied code, the original chip must not have code protection enabled. If it is enabled, then you will not be able to copy the code.

If copy protection is not enabled, you would need to find a compatible emulator/programmer, such as the now obsolete Renesas E8a (R0E00008AKCE00), connect to the chip via header on target circuit board, read the code, and then program that code into the new chip via an appropriate header on the new circuit board.

Unfortunately, since the E8a is obsolete and we have no more stock, you would have to try to find one elsewhere.

Original IC is R5F212B7SDFP. And new IC is same or similar

Thankful David.

It looks like that R5F212B7SDFP chip also would have been programmed by the Renesas E8a too.
