Abrasives and surface conditioning products are used to clean, deburr, grind, lap, buff, cut or polish surfaces to a desired finish to provide clarity, smoothness or as preparation for paint, soldering or buffing. Surface conditioning may be used to prepare the cut end of a fiber optic cable before installation. General classifications of abrasives include coarse, extra coarse, fine, medium, super fine, and ultra fine and are available in rolls, sheets, belts, discs, wheels, cloth, brushes, and films.
SelectionCharacteristics
Type: The type, style, or nature of the product.
Abrasive Material: Indicates the type of material used as the abrasive, such as aluminum oxide, ceramic, diamond, etc.
Abrasive Grade: Indicates how coarse or fine the abrasive is.
Abrasive Grit: Indicates the size of the abrasive particles, The larger the number the smaller the particle size.
Micron Size: Indicates the physical size of the grit particles, one micron equals 0.001mm.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
Width: Indicates the width of the product.
Length: Indicates the length of the product.
Diameter: Indicates the diameter of the product.
Applications: Application is the type of equipment or environment the device will be used in; they are typically tested to ensure certain minimum standards for the application they are intended for.
