Adam Tech offers an eclectic mix of products, including their SW-R2-1A-F-LR13-8 rocker switch. We’ve had some confusion from customers recently concerning a seeming discrepancy between our listed current rating for this switch on the website (10A, at time of writing) and the 20A marking given on the product. Is there an error somewhere?
Fortunately, no error at all. This switch carries multiple different current ratings based on the voltage run across the contacts. The 10A rating is valid for 125VAC systems, while the 20A rating is valid for 12VDC systems. At 250VAC the switch is only good for 6A. The current rating depends on the voltage you’re controlling, rather than being a single fixed universal number.
