Here in this article we will show a Graphical Processor Unit (GPU) next level demo for the Alchitry Au V2 FPGA Development Board (Xilinx Artix 7)
For this demo please use the following Alchitry adapter for the HDMI output.
Also the following HDMI cable converter is also needed, shown the next picture and available at DigiKey
for this Graphical Processor Unit Demo. Proceed to attach both boards together as follows,
This GPU demo consists of a cylinder created in Blender,
and imported into the Alchitry Au V2 FPGA Development Board (Xilinx Artix 7) Read Only Memory (ROM), and rendered in the FPGA to the HDMI display. As was explained in our previous article, this object which is an approximation to an ideal cylinder, is composed of a collection of triangles. In this case, a total of 124 triangles and 372 vertices represent this cylinder object that is rotating around the X-axis in a rectangular frame of reference.
The GPU demo on the FPGA is shown in the following video,
This is the next level article in relation to a GPU demo that is standard in the Alchitry Au V2 FPGA Development Board (Xilinx Artix 7). The Alchitry Au V2 FPGA Development Board (Xilinx Artix 7) is a compact but very powerful FPGA platform and is available at DigiKey. Have a wonderful day!
