AP33772S routing of DP/DN signals to a USB host while using the moisture feature on new version

Hello, I was trying to understand what is the recommendation regarding the routing of DP/DN signals from the USB connector to the AP33772S IC while having a hosto communicating on the USB interface at the same time.
Can someone throw in some light about it please?

Thnak you for contacting DigiKey , what is the complete part number you are working with ? We will need this so we look at the correct part and data sheet to see if we can get that information for you .

Thanks Craig

Hi Craig,

Thank you for your response,

The part number in question is AP33772SDKZ-13-FA01

Appreciate any support from you,
I fill out a form on DIodes as well a day ago but I am not sure if they will come back.

If you look at the evaluation module they offer which is also available on DK with P/N 31-AP33772S-EVB-ND, the solution is a standalone one with no provision for the case of having a host on the USB lines.

Thank you again,
Manuel

Hi manuel.iglesias,

I see that the sole schematic in the AP33772S datasheet shows D+ and D- connected to DP and DN of the AP33772S. Reading on page 11, it apparently measures the impedance between the two pins to try to detect for moisture. If it does, it shuts down the power connection.

Assuming you didn’t need this feature, and also assuming that the AP33772S would interpret no connects on those two pins as minimal to no moisture, I see no reason why you couldn’t connect D+ and D- to your USB device.
